I wrote a thesis for my M.Arch class in the fall of 2016.
I researched, summarized and analyzed academic (mostly) and biographic (some) texts for 4 months.
If I had more time, I would have written more. I only really brush on the surface of the problem. The issue is relevant. The issue is real and (in many cases) measurable. People experience it daily. It is manifested in our cities, towns, and deeply rooted in our social and political institutions.
I wrote about racial inequality in my M.Arch thesis. I wrote about why the #BlackLivesMatter movement is important and different. I wrote about community organizing can help leaders better address issues facing their communities. I wrote about how marches and protests have worked in the past, and how they can and will work now.
Finally, I wrote about how a building might be able to facilitate collective action to help, which I am completing in my Thesis Exploration class this spring!
